John Bryan State Park, Let Me Run, Warm-up coming!

My parents wanted to have Summer visit a few days last week so I dropped her off with them and explored John Bryan State Park.
I also ran through Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve.  The shoes were cheap trail running shoes from Meijer.  I REALLY regret this.  There is a reason why certain running shoes cost more and it is because they are designed to take a beating... These $20 yellow FILA shoes might be great for hiking, but not actual running... and running several miles, at that.
Out with the old and in with the new.  I found a great deal on these Brooks Cascadia 11s.  They even have a ballistic rock plate in the bottom of the sole to protect your feet for technical trail with roots and rocks.  That being said... I am taking it easy this week and no trail running.
We took the weather on the go this week with a mobile green screen.  It was a lot of fun running between some of the weather hits and getting commuters passing by on their bikes.
Saturday morning I ran 18 miles with a couple friends and ran into more friends along the trail.
Follow that up with planting all the flower beds and garden.  I spent about 6 hours planting everything on Saturday.
Sunday was another early morning with the inaugural Let Me Run Columbus 5k. I was asked to be the Grand Marshal and I am very honored.  Let Me Run is a running program for elementary and middle school boys to get them active and teaching them life lessons like respect and so much more.  I released all the schools one by one and then I got the chance to run myself.
I had to stop to give a high five to Summer and Dawn, who came out for the run.  It makes my heart melt when I see them along the course supporting me.
I was the tail end of the runners and Mason here sprinted the final stretch and beat his father and me.  What a great day to get out and enjoy some time with the kids.  They will be doing another session in the fall, so if anyone is interested, let me know and I can get you in touch with getting this added to your school.
We will start the morning damp from some of the late Sunday rain, but dry for the day ahead with a mix of sun & clouds and mild temps, as we warm into the mid-upper 60s. Tonight we will have partly cloudy skies and Columbus will likely bottom out in the mid-upper 40s, but outlying areas could see some patchy frost for Tuesday morning. Mostly sunny with a few PM clouds Tuesday and warming back into the lower 70s. Partly cloudy and in the upper 70s for Wednesday. Thursday will be wet with scattered showers & storms. Friday and the weekend will also have the slight chance for some isolated rain.
Much warmer for the weekend. I think that once we get through tomorrow morning that we are good to go with planting anything you would like in the garden or flowerbeds. I jumped the gun just a little bit because I live so close to the Columbus Metro area, but outlying areas still should wait another 36 hours.  Have a good one!

Best,
Andrew Buck Michael
