Running all over this weekend and BUCKEYES WON!

I am trying to run every single day between Thanksgiving and New Years.  It is likely one of the easiest times of the year to throw in the towel and take a break, but I am trying to stay busy.  I was lucky enough to find a few trails through the woods by our neighborhood park.  Running on trails is SO much more fun than sidewalks.  You focus more on the next few feet in front of you and your footing, rather than dodging cars parked on sidewalks.
Saturday morning I went down to The Shoe for the Ohio State vs. TTUN (That Team Up North).  I had some friends in town and we had a lot of fun.  I got to hang out with BuckIGuy and Shelley Meyer before the game.
Urban went by our tailgate before Skull Session.  He was all business!
Thanks to the generosity of my friend's girlfriend, we got into the game!
And after we won, it was easier to exit by getting onto the field.  There was a mob of people going onto the field.  Then we funneled out the south tunnels.  What a fun time!
Sunday morning I wrapped some presents for Dawn's birthday and started watching Westworld.  Quite an interesting story.
Then I went for a run
And kept running... What a beautiful day for a run!
A couple rounds of rain on the way for Central Ohio. Best chances of rain will be Monday night and Tuesday night. Rain showers will be on and off with more throughout the day. Heavy rain at times overnight tonight then clearing skies for midday Tuesday with some sun and warm temps. More clouds later in the day with more rain Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. A spotty shower or two possible later Wednesday and Thursday then drier air for the end of the week and cooler temps. Have a good one!

Friendsgiving

So yesterday Dawn, Summer, and I went over to have Thanksgiving dinner with our good friends who just returned from their honeymoon.  Jon and I both liked a flannel shirt at Costco a couple months ago and we decided to be funny and wear them yesterday. I forgot out Cool Whip and whipped cream at home so I had to run to Meijer. Jon came with me so we could see what people thought.
We also enjoyed some delicious turkey afterward.  It was a pretty good day.
The rest of your Thanksgiving weekend will be cool across Central Ohio with clouds sticking around most of the weekend until Sunday. Today, for Black Friday, we will see cloudy skies and some pockets of wintry mix, mainly this evening and Friday night. Saturday will be mostly cloudy and cool, with a few flurries early. More sun by Sunday with temperatures warming back into the low 50s and we warm up even more early next week. Rain likely late Monday and Tuesday with a surge of warm air and we may reach the 60s on Tuesday before cooler air returns. Have a good one!

Chilly run, but milder temps coming

It was a chilly day for a run yesterday, but it felt good when I was done with my two mile run.  I REALLY want to get a Garmin watch so I can leave my phone at home and my GPS can track where I am running.  Especially since I am on trails and not always on sidewalks. They are just so expensive that I cannot justify it currently.
Another chilly Tuesday with morning temps in the teens and lower 20s.  We will start the day with sunny skies with more clouds moving in for the afternoon and highs in the lower 40s.  More clouds Wednesday and rain likely for the afternoon and especially the evening.  Thanksgiving and Black Friday will be mostly cloudy with some spotty rain possible; highs in the upper 40s.  Drier for the weekend, but staying cool with a mix of sun & clouds. Have a good one!

Winter is here!

We broke the record high temp on Friday with a high of 75°! It was a beautiful day!
Saturday we returned to the family farm.  It might seem bare, but I love the view out the front of my parent's property.
Sunday was a resting day.  Dawn has been very tired the past week and Summer is still getting over being sick.  So when I heard her waking up I took her downstairs and we watched Dumbo while Dawn slept.
Then yesterday was a restful day with sweats and hanging out in the house.  MUCH needed relaxing day.
A dry start to your holiday week with decreasing clouds through the day on Monday and chilly temps only warming into the low 40s. Another cold night for Monday night with just a few clouds and then partly cloudy and cool for Tuesday. Rain likely for Wednesday and seasonable temps. Cool with spotty showers possible Thursday and Friday. Dry weather returns for next weekend and staying cool. Have a good one!

Busy week with warm temps, but snow on the way

With our temperatures so warm this week, I could not pass up the chance to get the Christmas lights up on the house.  I have put them up before with coat and gloves and I figured I would pass on that... this time. Anyway... the outside lights are up!  I have another strand I might put on the bushes in front of the windows, but for now... no more ladders needed.
I also have taken advantage of the warm temps with some running.  I don't have an upcoming run until next April, so it is only pleasure running now.  I want to stay in shape so when I start training I can roll right into the thick of it.
It will be a beautiful November day today. I hope you can enjoy it because we will be twenty degrees above normal, but winter will be returning this weekend. Lots of sun and low 70s today with winds starting to pick up. Clouds roll in late tonight and rain likely by daybreak Saturday with strong winds. Temps fall through the day on Saturday and staying windy. Rain will be likely in the early morning hours then dry most of the middle part of the day with some flurries or light snow showers for the afternoon and evening. Windy and flurries for Saturday night and early Sunday then clouds starting to break up by the afternoon Sunday and staying chilly. More sun and cool temperatures early next week. Have a good one!

Friends' wedding, fall fun, & flurries coming... LOTS of Fs

Check out this hot date!  Dawn joined me Thursday night for our friends' wedding rehearsal in Akron.
The groomsmen all had a Google Hangout chat the last 4 months and it was hilarious.  It was great to FINALLY all get together.
The wedding was FANTASTIC! Jon and Allison were long-time friends and Dawn and I are blessed to hang out with them so often.
Everyone else got chilly and ran back to the bus when it was just bride and groom photos, but I hung around to help out and carry some stuff.  Happy to be there to help during their special day.
Summer stayed at grandmas this weekend and we had some fun in the leaves on Sunday.
A fantastic fall workweek ahead. Lots of sun to start the week with more clouds midweek and a chance of rain, but more sun by the end of the workweek. High temps staying in the mid 50s for the first half of the week then mid 60s by the end of the week. Rain returns Saturday and even flurries are possible next Sunday as cold air rushes in. Have a good one!

Columbus zoo & Christmas lights

Dawn had a rough morning at work with technological issues. Since she works from home I told her that Summer and I would get out of her hair for the afternoon.  Summer and I went to the Columbus Zoo for the afternoon and we had a blast.  Polar bears were her favorite.  She also loved seeing the elephants just a few feet away.  Her favorite toy at home is a small elephant that plays music so to see a HUGE version was astonishing to her.
Last night I went into the basement to find the Christmas lights. I will start putting some of these up today while Summer is napping... AFTER I vote!
A cool, dry start to election day with some rain showers arriving around the evening commute. Light rain showers will continue overnight on and off, but start leaving by daybreak Wednesday. Much cooler Wednesday with clouds sticking around for most of the day. A few late effect rain showers are possible Wednesday for far Northeastern Ohio. More sun & cool by Thursday and Friday. Another cold front coming on Friday will bring much cooler temps for the weekend. Have a good one!

Warm start to November, OSU tailgating, fall gardening

Last week I tried soaking up as much of the fall warmth as possible.  I mowed... and likely will need to do again with the grass still so green.  While Summer napped I enjoyed a beverage on the patio while reading.
And we even had dinner on the patio!
Saturday we had family in town for a big tailgate.
Summer loved running around our cousin's RV, but I had to take her on a long walk to try to get her to nap.
It was a very long walk...
But she didn't want to sleep... she loved watching all the geese along the river for our three mile walk.
I did make a good friend while tailgating.
So we had a little frost over the weekend, but take a look at the sun coming up the side of the house and warming up the garden first thing in the morning.
That has allowed me to continue harvesting vegetables well into November.
Yesterday was laundry day and Summer kept bringing me my shirt until I put it on her.
Early patchy fog and frost for Monday morning followed by lots of sun through the afternoon with mild temps. Dry and mostly clear tonight followed by increasing clouds through the day for Election Day. We will stay dry most of the day Tuesday, but some late evening rain showers are expected with a cold front coming through. Cooler temps return for the second half of the week and only a slight chance of a shower on Friday. Have a good one!

Summer's first Trick or Treat

Yesterday was cramming day.  Summer was cramming on how to pretend to be Snow White.  We watched a little bit of the movie and she was glued to the TV.
And she was an adorable Snow White last night.  A little apprehensive about going up to strangers and taking candy from them, but she finally warmed up by the end of the night and at least would put the candy in her pumpkin.
Once we got home she was very happy to sit on the steps with all the candy.
And she learned the dangers of eating chocolate... M&Ms more specifically.  She had one and wanted another, and another, and another.  She actually started going to our bowl of candy to hand out to the kids and was taking the M&Ms and running one pack at a time back to Dawn.  It was adorable.
Dawn and Summer loved waving at all the kids.  Summer would hand them candy then wouldn't wave until they were about thirty feet away.
A big push of warm air for the first couple days of November. Forecasted highs of 78 for today and Wednesday will give our record high temperatures a run for their money. The record high today is 80 set in 1950 and the record high for tomorrow is 79, set in 1987. A mix of sun and clouds today and Wednesday then more clouds Wednesday night ahead of rain on Thursday. Showers likely and a few storms possible on Thursday as a cold front moves through. Cooler and dry for the weekend. Have a good one!

Best,
Andrew Buck Michael

I also forgot to post this photo from last week... Dawn and Summer were out of town one day last week and I went on a 90 mile ride to check out the fall foliage and this was at Alum Creek.
