I ran the quarter marathon so I could done a little before 9AM. I did one final LIVE hit at 9AM then raced off to my son's soccer game at 10:15 because I am the coach for that. I was a little nervous about pulling it off, but I made it with a little time to spare. The team played really well this week and worked as a team with lots of passing and execution, but it was our first loss of the season.
After soccer we got ready and headed up to Cleveland to surprise my father-in-law. He retired on Friday and we went up to surprise him for dinner. We spent the night and I joined a group of trail runners for their annual blue bell run. There are several areas that are covered in acres of blue bell flowers near the Everett Covered Bridge in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It was a beautiful day and great to catch up with some running friends up there.

Today is going to be the nicest day on the 7-day forecast, so I highly recommend getting outside and taking advantage of the day. We are starting the morning cool, with temps dipping into the 40s. We will warm to a high around 80 with mostly sunny skies and a light breeze out of the southeast. More clouds arriving tonight with low temps around 62.
Tuesday will be an ALERT DAY for the potential for strong to severe storms, especially the north/east quadrant of Ohio. All of Ohio will have the possibility of the severe storms, mainly during the afternoon/evening, but N/E parts of the state will have the best ingredients. So the big question is, will the ingredients come together properly because just having ingredients is only one part of the process. Right now it looks like we will be mostly cloudy in the morning with a few stray showers. If we end up getting a decent amount of morning rain then that will pull some of the energy away from the afternoon. The scattered storms will start to develop in the early afternoon and move from west to east across the state through the late afternoon and evening. Right now the Storm Prediction Center has N/E Ohio in the Enhanced Risk, which is a 3 on the 0 to 5 scale of severity. West and south parts of the state are in the Slight Risk, which is a 2 on the 0 to 5 scale of severity. Large hail, damaging winds will be the two biggest concerns, but isolated tornadoes are possible. So be sure to have a way of being notified if a severe storm is in your area and take shelter. High temperature around 83 Tuesday along with higher humidity. Brisk winds out of the southwest 10-20+ mph.
The storms will move out overnight Tuesday night and some lingering rain will be possible overnight into Wednesday morning. We will get a little break from the rain part of Wednesday. Another round of scattered showers and storms possible Wednesday afternoon. We will be a little cooler, with a high around 72 for Wednesday. More scattered showers and storms Thursday and Friday with a high of 81 then 71. So keep the rain gear handy. Severe weather does not look as likely for Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, but we will keep an eye on things. Decreasing clouds for the weekend with a high around 65 on Saturday. More sun Sunday with a high around 70. Morning lows on Saturday will be in the lower 40s in Columbus and outlying areas may have light frost as temps dip into the 30s. Have a good one!
Best,
